Founded in 2001, the Archer Center is where Texas meets the world. As the Washington, D.C., campus of The University of Texas System, the Archer Center provides talented undergraduate and graduate students from across The UT System the opportunity to live, learn, and intern in Washington, D.C.
The Graduate Archer Fellowship Program
The Graduate Archer Fellowship Program was established in 2010 by The University of Texas System as a way to bring graduate, doctoral, medical, and law students interested in policy and politics to our nation’s capital to learn about the federal government and public service. Graduate Archer Fellows live, learn and work in the heart of Washington, D.C., during the summer. Selection is based on a competitive process, and we are pleased to be able to offer this experience to highly motivated students of The University of Texas System.
The application deadline for the Summer 2021 Graduate Program in Public Policy is Thursday, November 5, 2020, by 11:59 pm Central Standard Time (CST). Students selected as Archer Fellows will be notified on or by Wednesday, December 16, 2020. At this time, the Archer Center is planning for an in-residence summer 2021 program.
The Summer 2021 Graduate Archer Fellowship Program application will open September 8, 2020.
The Archer Fellowship Program for Undergraduates
The Archer Fellowship Program was established by The University of Texas System in conjunction with former U.S. Representative Bill Archer as a way to bring highly motivated and accomplished undergraduate students to Washington, D.C., to participate in varied internships and attend classes focusing on policy, history, and advocacy. Selection is based on a competitive application process, and each cohort of Archer Fellows is comprised of the best and brightest students from across the UT System.
The Archer Fellowship Program application will open mid-November 2020 and the deadline for fall 2021 and spring 2022 participation is Monday, February 15, 2021, by 11:59pm Central Standard Time (CST). Archer Fellowship Program interviews will take place on UT System campuses between late February and early April. Students selected to participate in the program will be notified by mid-April, 2021. At this time, the Archer Center is planning for an in-residence fall 2021 and spring 2022 program.
